We know James Brown said “this is a man’s world” but he also said “it wouldn’t be nothing without a woman or a girl.” When it comes to the world of music, if you look around it does seem to be mostly a man’s world, which is why we need to get more women in the game – especially at Legacy! During the time I’ve been here, I’ve only seen three women come in to record compared to countless men.
At Legacy, we really want girls to feel inspired to come in and make music here, whether they’re rapping, singing or anything in between. It’s our goal to be a champion for women in music.
Entering into the music industry as a woman can be intimidating and hard, but you have the same right to be here as the guys! Before this year comes to a close/end I want to see way more women in the studio taking up space and creating.
